Choosing to work with a counselor is an incredibly courageous thing to do - after all, you are voluntarily choosing to share your life story with essentially a complete stranger. That is not easy! I therefore strive to meet your courage with a safe and encouraging place for you to share struggles, explore patterns, and try out new ways to do life. I work from a relational and trauma-informed lens, but use a varied approach when counseling to explore practices that may work best for you. I consider you to be the expert in your own life, and always want you to feel empowered in the work we do together.
My therapy style is empathetic, warm, and genuine. I work to facilitate an environment where you feel simultaneously safe to express yourself and challenged to continue to grow towards your desired goals.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with the state of Texas, supervised by Melodye Phillips, LPC-S, PMH-C, CEDS. I hold a Master of Science in Counseling from Oklahoma State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from The University of Tulsa. Because of this science background, I love learning how the brain and body interact to affect our mental well-being, and how we can harness that power to heal.
My specialties include eating disorders and body image concerns, maternal mental health, and anxiety. However, I work with a variety of individuals and couples struggling with issues including life transitions, stress management, and relationship concerns.
I am particularly passionate about transitions and struggles related to parenthood, including pregnancy and postpartum concerns, infertility, and the inevitable identity and role changes related to becoming parents.
